A Posture is a Seat

The Sanskrit word for seat is asana. Yoga doesn’t teach us how to do a “pose,” it teaches us how to sit with ourselves in all circumstances. Sitting with ourselves teaches us where we need to change, where we need to adjust, and prepares us to be a better listener or leader.

Asanas cultivate the skill and the ethos for forms of embodiment that are open to dialogue and full participation.
